As of late July 2026, principal photography on Alex Garland's Elden Ring adaptation has reportedly wrapped, roughly six months after filming began in the UK this spring.
One thing I keep going back and forth on: the "six solid months" in the original crew post doesn't quite square with World of Reel's follow-up describing a "roughly four-month shoot." My read is that's not really a contradiction - "six months" sounds like it's counting from when UK prep and early filming first kicked off in April, while "four months" is closer to just the core principal photography window once everything was actually rolling. Different starting lines, not necessarily different stories. Curious if anyone's seen a cleaner breakdown of that timeline than what we've pieced together so far.
still feels mad to me that this is already filmed and done, i only properly got into all this a few months back. does the wait for post-production actually feel long to people who've been following since the start, or is that just me being impatient as the new guy
